AU Ford September 1998 - April 2000

The AU Ford Falcon, was introduced in September 1998 as an all-new model to replace the 1996 EL. The AU Fairlane was released in March 1999, to replace the NL, and the AU LTD was released in June 1999, to replace the DL. Falcon- $29,990-$50,490. Fairlane- $50,990-$54,490. LTD- $64,820-$68,000. 237,701 Falcons, 11,906 Fairlanes, and 853 LTDs (all incl. AUI/II/III) were built. Replaced by the AUII Falcon in April 2000.

Ford and Tickford had a factory racing team in the V8 Supercars, Ford Tickford Racing was introduced along with the AU XR8 into the category in 1999. For the 1999 & 2000 seasons, the drivers were #5 Glenn Seton, and #6 Neil Crompton.
