Ford Mustang II
1974 - 1978
The second generation Mustang
started production in 1973 and was on the showroom floor in
September 1973. Released in coupe and hatchback
models for the 1974 model year, the model brought the Mustang
back to its smaller, humbler beginnings and no common parts
with the model it
replaced.The models underpinnings were based on the subcompact
Ford Pinto rather than the Ford Falcon of the first generation.
The Mustang II
was replaced in 1978 by the Fox-platform third gerneration
Mustang.
